Happy Ash Wednesday, friends! As we enter this season of lent, I want to suggest a great book to read during your time of fasting and prayer.
I just finished Jesus Is ____________. by Judah Smith a couple weeks ago and I highly recommend it!
The story behind the Jesus Is ____________. title and campaign is pretty cool. Judah is the pastor of a church in Seattle, Washington called The City Church. When he first took over as lead pastor, he and his marketing team sat down to discuss the launch of a marketing campaign. They decided not to promote the church or a specific doctrine, rather they wanted to promote Jesus. They wanted people to start thinking about him. Hence came the Jesus Is ____________. campaign. They actually created a website that allowed others to fill in this blank with who they thought Jesus was. (You need to check out the website, too. Pretty epic.)
As time went on, Judah knew this campaign was much more and wrote this book.
I know It’s been like a billion years since I last wrote about Daring Greatly, but I haven’t given up on reading it just yet. I truly love reading and the book, but time doesn’t always work in my favor. Anyway, here are some excerpts from chapter three that inspired me and really made me think.
I hope they’ll do the same for you!
In this post-graduation, job hunting stage of my life, I’ve finally found some time to read.
For some time now I’ve been trying to read Daring Greatly by Dr. Brené Brown.
